FAMILIAL DNA-So one of the Big Picture thoughts I have is the technique used to capture The Golden State Killer. Familial DNA...It caught the Grim Sleeper and now The Golden State Killer. Who's Next? So really any Serial Killer/Rapist/Criminal that leaves DNA behind is now at risk if his/her family members used a private DNA collection firm like Ancestry or 23&Me and GEDmatch. "" How many serial killers are out there in America?

John Douglas, a former chief of the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit and author of "Mind Hunter," says, "A very conservative estimate is that there are between 35 and 50 active serial killers in the United States" at any given time. Often, Douglas told me, they will, "kill two to three victims and then have a 'cooling-off' period between kills." That period can be days and in some cases (such as the BTK Strangler, Dennis Rader, convicted of killing 10 people from 1974 to 1991) even years."" The FBI might be able to capture Mr Bishop in the same manner. Unfortunately, Mr Bishop could very well be in Europe. The FBI would have to get cooperation from multiple countries before they get a hit. We could be in for a long wait on that. But I think they should consider doing the screen in the USA first, never know Mr Bishop could be hiding in plain sight. RE-THINKING MR BISHOP - I had been aware of the Bishop case for many years. It was featured on T.V. in the past. But other than thinking how terrible it was I never looked into it. Since I had written my novel (LIVING IN THE TIME OF WOLVES) I was thinking of writing another novel perhaps about crime. About that time I saw a program on how Whitey Bulgar was captured after 16 years on the run. He was 81. Captured about 30 miles from where I lived at that time, 1012 Third Street in Santa Monica. An FBI agent was looking at the Bulger case when he decided to change their approach. They blasted the media with pictures, pictures of Bulger's girlfriend and that's when the FBI got the Santa Monica TIP. I went to the FBI web site and looked over their Top 10 Most Wanted and felt the Bishop case was very interesting. Perhaps a change in his profile was warranted. Why haven't the FBI caught this guy yet? He has been on the "run" since 1976, 42 years. He is now 82(in Aug) if still alive. What type of Family Annihilator does Mr Bishop fit? In my opinion, Mr Bishop seems to fit in the " Anomic " type of Family Annihilator (see link). He over values himself in the family. In his mind family members are nothing without him and he is better off if they are dead. They didn't meet his standards nor would they be willing to go overseas. They pushed him over the edge, it's their fault. But even if they would be willing to move for an overseas assignment the State Dept was pulling the rug from under him. It would appear he was on his way out of a job soon. He had bad work habits and a bad temper, just not the qualities the State Dept will promote. He had plenty of time and chances to improve, but lacked the insight or ability to do so. A few years ago when I first got interested in the Family Annihilation of the Bishop family and viewed many of the listed video's and crime scene pictures I guess I was overwhelmed by the cruelty of this man. I became somewhat obsessed with this creep. I thought I had him. I reported a tip to the FBI and nothing ever came of it. The FBI never contacted me. Not surprising after doing more research on my potential fugitive (POI) I discovered the height and eye color did not fit. I waited 1 full year, I was somewhat down about it but I kept looking. I became somewhat frustrated then I had a dream- I was standing across the street from a policeman writing in his ticket book. There were 3 young boys laying on their stomachs tied up. I knew it was wrong for a policeman to tie up kids like that so I walked over to the policeman. He was Brad Bishop with that stupid grin on his face. The boys were tied up next to each other on the ground. They had their mouths taped shut. The oldest boy looked up at me in desperation. I woke up and felt sick. The Bishop Crime occurred March 1, 1976 during a pitch black night of the New Moon. And by the way this lunar phase was not noted in any other research I found. I have a lot more on that topic in the future. Suffice it to say Mr Bishop was having problems at work - The State Department - at Foggy Bottom, 2201 C Street, NW Washington, DC 20520, Room 3531 and with his personal finances. He missed at least one promotion at work probably due to several bad evaluations and a bad temper. He thought he could do better and be promoted easier IF he was given a foreign assignment where diplomats were treated almost like Royalty. But his family, who had been on foreign assignments with him in the past, wanted to settle down. His children loved their new school and friends. His mother and wife may have criticized him for not moving to a higher position at work. The look of disappointment was in their eyes. He felt like a slave to his family. He was a desk jockey now and it was very boring and killing his chances of promotions. Mr Bishop had a lifelong personal goal..." April 25, 1967 if you're going to succeed in the Foreign Service - make Ambassador before you're 50" but he saw the writing on the wall and already gave up on this goal. He wrote in his diary sometime later, "I dedicate my energies now to love - not pleasing superiors, not to becoming an Ambassador". He was 39 years old with a ton of doubt, heavy like a boulder, that he would ever get another promotion much less be an Ambassador. His mental state was not good. He was suffering from severe insomnia and "depression-anxiety ". He was given the anti-Anxiety medication Serax by a Psychiatrist. On Monday, March 1, 1976 he left work complaining he did not feel good. He had seen the new posted promotions and his name was not on the list. He was crushed. He could feel his life falling into the black pit. How could this happen? He had trained all his life to do something great, but now he is just a failure. All his training, all those degrees, all those languages took hundreds of hours to learn, all his great work over seas and all his sacrifices...just to fail. What turned his life into failure? The one fact that was crystal clear to him, the one truth in this entire disaster that he knew 110% was... he wasn't to blame. It wasn't his fault. What kept him from reaching and surpassing the height of success in his life? Who betrayed me ? I will show you the WRATH YOU CREATED !

Mr Bishop leaves work, heads for the bank and gets $400 cash. Then buys a pitch fork, shovel, small sledge hammer and 2 1/2 gal gas can fills it up and tops off his car. This is a man who knew exactly what he was going to do, where when and how he was going to do it. He waited for the precise moment when the children were asleep and his mother took the dog, Leo, for his nightly walk. He loved his dog. He got his sledge hammer and stood over his wife as she read and crushed her skull with one blow. He went on to massacre the rest of the family, his 3 boys as they slept and his mother when she returned. It was a horrific scene, like their bodies just exploded as they lay. 1st Crime scene - the House at 8103 Lilly Stone Drive Bethesda, MD 20817-Montgomery County, MD where the murders took place on the night of Mar 1, 1976. He loaded the bodies into the back of his 1974 Malibu Chevy maroon station wagon and drove to Tyrrell County, North Carolina on HWY 94, south of Columbia NC. He turned off on an old logging road to The 2nd Crime scene where he dug a hole and piled the bodies in, covered them with some dirt and doused them with gasoline. He put them to the flame.
